Laswitan Lagoon

Laswitan Lagoon is located in the municipality of Cortes, Surigao del Sur, Philippines. It is cradled in the middle of a rocky hill. The surrounding rocks are constantly hampered by the ferocious splashes by the Pacific Ocean that the saltwater still manages to overflow into the other side, creating a faux waterfall as it cascades to the lagoon.

Laswitan comes from the Visayan term, laswit, which means 'sea water pounding on the rocks'.
The local government has been promoting Laswitan so do not be surprised if a lot of tourists are already coming to see the area. It is recommended, however, to visit Laswitan from October to March, or during Amihan season, when the waves are stronger.
