Tinuy-an Falls

Tinuy-an Falls is a multi-tiered waterfall in Bislig, Surigao del Sur in the southern island of Mindanao, Philippines. Bislig, is a city known as the Booming City by the Bay. The falls itself has been featured in various International Travel Magazines and TV shows.

The Tinuy-an falls are 95m wide and 55 metres (180 ft) high, touted as the little Niagara Falls of the Philippines. Tinuy-an is a white water curtain that flows in three levels (with a fourth tier hidden from view) and is said to be the widest waterfall in the Philippines. Every morning, the area shows a rainbow between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. One may also ride a raft to get close to its cascades and get a water “massage.”

Enchanted River

Enchanted River is a deep spring river on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. It flows into the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean at Barangay Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is found between the boundaries of Barangays of Talisay and Cambatong. As of today, no one has ever reached its bottom.

Geography

Hinatuan Bay, which is the habitat of various species of turtles, is located at its mouth. Its mouth also offers a safe anchorage against storms and typhoons.

Bogac Cold Spring

Bogac Cold Spring is located in Barobo, Surigao Del Sur. For its earliest settlers, who traveled through the waters of Barobo River to get here, Bogac Cold Spring, whose name was derived from the Visayan term bogwak meaning flow, was a source of potable and useful water, and a nice spot for some rest and relaxation.

Brief Historical Background

The Bogac Cold Spring, with crystal clear water and chilling has been significantly part of the lives of Barobohanons since the dawn ofcivilization's BAROBO. According to local historians, people from different parts of the country (mostly fishermen) came through the channel connecting to Talisay BAROBO river until they found Bogac and two other bodies of water nearby. These found bounty of the place seemed to be a strong invitation for them to settle.

Laswitan Lagoon

Laswitan Lagoon is located in the municipality of Cortes, Surigao del Sur, Philippines. It is cradled in the middle of a rocky hill. The surrounding rocks are constantly hampered by the ferocious splashes by the Pacific Ocean that the saltwater still manages to overflow into the other side, creating a faux waterfall as it cascades to the lagoon.
